The fact is many, many questions have been raised regarding the goings on at Comet Ping Pong, Bucks, etc. as well as the content of Mr. Alefantis' personal Instagram account. One big question that he has yet to answer is why the place is described as family friendly when there are particular sorts of murals - he knows which ones - on the wall of his restaurant, as well as musical events billed as "all ages" that are anything but. Not once has Mr. Alefantis bothered to respond to these questions. We all admit there is no smoking gun evidence as yet (that we have access to) but as the saying goes, where there's smoke there's fire. We want Mr. Alefantis to sit down and REALLY answer questions, not continue to have softball interviews with the media to save face and court pity. He has yet to explain himself. Until the day he does, he will likely continue to be tried daily in the court of public opinion. After all, you may be innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, but the court of public opinion is something else entirely. Those who vehemently defend Mr. Alefantis must remember that nobody forced Mr. Alefantis to advertise his restaurant in such a way. Nobody forced Mr. Alefantis to upload questionable content to his Instagram account. Nobody forced him to book obscene bands at events at his restaurant and cater to families. However, he did, and for those reasons alone people are outraged and disgusted with him--regardless if he is innocent in every other regard. Add that to the growing mound of circumstantial evidence and it should be no surprise that people are calling for formal investigations.
