These dogs are trained to locate the scent of only human (and pig) deaths, along each step of the way from warm newly dead to 30-yo dry bones. The bouquet changes along the way, it's quite complex.
Other dogs can find specific (alive) lost humans by smelling a t-shirt, but maybe that person's signature scent changes as they decompose? I dunno
