Throughout my childhood, 4 to 5 times per year, I was sent to hospitals and military bases where I was subjected to torture. In 2015 Carolyn Hamlett wrote she was tortured in a nearly identical lab with swirls:

[Lynn Schirmer's] drawing is nearly identical in every way to what I remember.  When I was subjected to this technique of programming, there was not just one black and white spinning wheel, but numerous ones in the room so that no matter where my eyes might want to wander, they would be caught by another spinning wheel. http://archive.is/OH6Bg
