Instagram used to have before the "Map" option which automatically placed the pics in a map with the GPS coordinates. They removed that feature around October 2016 (it was very easy to see where people lived) but older versions of Instagram might still be able to see where the pic was taken. Someone would need to be allowed as a Follower by Alefantis though, not sure any of us has that privilege :D
