Knowing what we know about how much Satanist (and Spirit Cookers) like the inversion game, it would make a lot of sense to mock and pervert the Catholic Church, something that has been going on since its inception.

This passes a 95% certainty of the meaning behind the shoes on Pedosta AND in the paintings ... and .. FFS.. probably has something to do with Wizard of Oz. Inversion of anything good.

I suddenly have a desire to get rid of my red shoes. Gah, red WAS my favourite colour. I wonder what bowie was referring to in his song, Let's Dance. 'Put on your red shoes and dance the blues'? Given the alleged abuse claims against him in the past.
