I guess I'm in the minority from this page. I don't feel that it is "normalizing" as in legitimizing pedophilia, but raising attention to the fact that it is a mental order that should be addressed freely. A common theme I see in these articles is non offending pedophiles, those attracted to children but resist temptation, find it difficult to get any meaningful help without being court ordered after an offense has occurred. I can somewhat understand that, since I see the same situation with drug addicts. Many of the drug court programs are fantastic at getting people back on their feet, but if you haven't committed an offense you're out of luck. I'm willing to support any resource that keeps people from offending, seems better than the alternative, stigmatizing seeking help until they give up and offend

I guess I'm in the minority from this page. I don't feel that it is "normalizing" as in legitimizing pedophilia, but raising attention to the fact that it is a mental order that should be addressed freely. A common theme I see in these articles is non offending pedophiles, those attracted to children but resist temptation, find it difficult to get any meaningful help without being court ordered after an offense has occurred. I can somewhat understand that, since I see the same situation with drug addicts. Many of the drug court programs are fantastic at getting people back on their feet, but if you haven't committed an offense you're out of luck. I'm willing to support any resource that keeps people from offending, seems better than the alternative, stigmatizing seeking help until they give up and offend
