Listening to the Cramps, Meteors, Screaming Lord Sutch back then didn't feel that creepy, did it?

It's not until recently I learned that "Jet Boys Jet girls" (The Damned) was about under age stuff... But not getting the English language subtleties kept it safer somehow! I still don't get the weirdness of the lyrics!

But it used to be undergroung and subversive too, qualities which are not to be found in all the deviant "art" sponsored or supported by rich liberals in power. The hopes that "liberals" entertained 50 years ago - that playing with deviant stuff was a way to accuse the evils of the power (Sympathy for the devil) - also meant that they expected a change in the power would take away this evil.

I think everyone knew Gigi Allin was wrong even then. Then there was the Nazi / Occult love affair in punk with this a-hole Boyd Rice: SLiMG Image

Punk like all other popular music born out of the 20th century was non-accidental. See Dave McGowan: http://centerforaninformedamerica.com/laurelcanyon/

TG almost never listened to. Gigi Allin totally unknown. But agree somehow with you. Wayne County was another one.

Still most of the real ugly stuff seems to come more in the 80's and later when the rebel card couldn't really be played anymore. Thanks for McGowan, I'll check.

Oh man, the Laurel Canyon stuff by McGowan will alter your reality. Enjoy!
