Some notes on queer and occult punk music

Both Heavy Breathing and Josh's band Homosuperior identify broadly as punk or post-punk. Heavy Breathing is taking its cues from the surrealist / occultist such as Laurie Anderson and Devo (who based their project on cannibalism and this book: The Beginning was the End https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Beginning_Was_the_End)). Homosuperior identifies with the long legacy of queer punk bands, and also the occultist school of punk influenced by Genesis P. Orridge (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Genesis_P-Orridge)) of Throbbing Gristle, Psychic TV, and Thee Temple ov Psychic Youth.

Comet caters to these kind of punk / post-punk acts because it attracts a certain crowd of kids.
