This could be a potential breakthrough.

Thats why I jumped right on it as soon as I saw it, I wasn't even thinking about this when it appeared in a completely unrelated task.

I looked into this corporation but unlike most corporations, I can't seem to find any corporate information. Maybe somebody who is better at this or whom has more patience to do more extensive research. Can over turn a stone here!

We do know that technologies are being used to access baby cams and cell phone cams and mic so it isn't unreasonable to fathom that they would be accessing web cams and mics on PC's. And a lot of kids use web cams.

Sometimes the corporate webpage will have an "about us" thumbnail. If it's a large corp, they will often list the Board of Directors and other principals. You could start there. You might even try searching "company "X" board of directors". Often they will list partner companies too, and down the rabbit hole you go! Good luck!

Well I don't know if it could be used to capture baby cams, as these usually connect using WiFi and steam using network protocols like HTTP, whereas the capturelibservice seems more likely to be use capture devices such as Webcam and even TV cards for recording TV to your PC hard drive like a DVR. Capture devices usually connect with USB, PCIe or some other fast link to the computer as opposed to a network connection such as WiFi.

I'm saying this software is being used to connect to baby cams, just that is is being done. I'm saying this might what they are using to connect PC webcams to live stream to somewhere. The capture service could capturing webcam activity and streaming it out to the network. The capture service it installs is completely unrelated to the software and can be deleted with no affect on the operation of their software. This raises suspicion as to why they install a service to the Windows system environment with full system wide privileges.

We need somebody to tear apart this software and find out what else its doing and what the purpose of this capture service is. They could even potentially installing an unknown to us, protocol for web access.

Well technically it would be re-streaming because baby cams already stream using HTTP usually and connect to a router with WiFi. What I mean is there is usually no need to capture from these cameras using software on a computer because these cameras are usually already connected to the Internet, via your WiFi network and modem. If the password is still set with the default then anyone can just connect to it if they know what make and model of camera you're using and that can be found simply by scanning your network. The only reason they would need software on the computer that I can think of is to find a password the owner other camera has changed from the default to. Once they have that they can log in anywhere. The only software I can think of to accomplish this task is a keylogger to see what password the users are typing in as they do so to access the camera from their own computer.

My suggestion here is that this software is being used to access the PC's webcam, this where they would find young kids using their webcam to horse around on.

I just use baby cams as an example that it is being done as it is also on cell phones.

Well there are various ways of doing it but not all of them require somebody to even put software on a computer to access the camera because the cameras are usually these days are IP cameras, a seperate piece of equipment isolated from the computer. You can access them even with the computer turned off if your the other side of the world from it. But the software does imply video capture which seems more like taking video from a USB source and sending it over the Internet as opposed to from a WiFi IP camera commonly used these days. You wouldn't need software on a person's computer to see their baby cam especially if they left it insecure with a default user name and password.

See this video as an example of what people can do when they hack IP cameras https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=MSdKy8g4Dy0

Most laptops and desktops use a USB connected camera. And this software is intended for such PC users running windows. From what I read, they also have these apps for other mobile devices as well.

It depends what this software is meant for. As I said why bother putting software to hack a baby cam when most are WiFi IP cameras, which don't need any computer of the camera owner to be turned on to be accessed. Also considering that most people leave them with with a default password. You can just put in the camera's IP address into your web browser URL bar, enter Admin as the username and changeme as the password, and bob's your uncle you're in. And you could be in a country the other side of the world to where that camera is when doing this. There's a whole website dedicated to listing unsecured IP cameras IP addresses which I'm sure pedos use. I suspect the capturelib software is meant for spying on built in laptop and USB Web cams.

At any rate we will have to find out what the software is really doing in order to determine its true purpose
