That really doesn't explain the candle, and in my honest opinion, I don't think it truly explains the camera photo either. To me, she's just providing an 'explanation' to someone who has no idea what she's actually referencing (the person she's responding to). In the candle image, most of the commenters know exactly what's going on. To excuse it as "making fun of food images" is kind of nonsense, considering she has taken her share of food photos, and I feel like if that were the primary purpose of the disposable camera photo, then she would have made it somewhat clear in the caption, or initially in some way.
