It was one of the first things I noticed:
Police seized a folding knife and three guns from the scene, including a Colt .38 handgun, a Colt AR-15 rifle, and a shotgun. Two of the guns were found on the alleged gunman and one was recovered in a vehicle, according to police. The restaurant suffered at least $1,000 worth of damage to a door, door lock, computer tower, and barrier wall.

Now if they DO get investigated they can just say, "Aww, too bad, the computer was damaged by the shooter."
They needed a plausible reason to get rid of the evidence. I bet they now have a shiny new, squeaky clean computer at Comet Ping Pong.

Theory: maybe the shooter had been a customer, worried about all of the recent publicity, decided to take matters into his own hands and destroy some evidence of his crimes. I.e. CPP's harddrive of him doing dirty things.
