It was one of the first things I noticed:
Police seized a folding knife and three guns from the scene, including a Colt .38 handgun, a Colt AR-15 rifle, and a shotgun. Two of the guns were found on the alleged gunman and one was recovered in a vehicle, according to police. The restaurant suffered at least $1,000 worth of damage to a door, door lock, computer tower, and barrier wall.

Now if they DO get investigated they can just say, "Aww, too bad, the computer was damaged by the shooter."
They needed a plausible reason to get rid of the evidence. I bet they now have a shiny new, squeaky clean computer at Comet Ping Pong.

If/when they get a warrant, CPP can say, "Oh sorry, it was damaged by the shooter so we got rid of it."
I can almost guarantee they will say the hard drive was hit.
Or else colluding law enforcement officials might say, "We could not retrieve any data because the hard drive was hit by a bullet."
I am not saying that law enforcement would collude, only that it is a possibility.
