"Ultima Thule renamed to stop nazi THINK"

PhilaFerret ago

From the article:

The name is now Arrokoth, which means sky in the Powhatan and Algonquian languages.

From that online encyclopedia:

Powhatan attack of 1622 popularly known as the Jamestown massacre took place in the English Colony of Virginia, in what is now the United States, on Friday, 22 March 1622. John Smith, though he had not been in Virginia since 1609 and was not an eyewitness, related in his History of Virginia that braves of the Powhatan "came unarmed into our houses with deer, turkeys, fish, fruits, and other provisions to sell us".[1] The Powhatan grabbed any tools or weapons available and killed all the English settlers they found, including men, women, and children of all ages. Chief Opechancanough led the Powhatan Confederacy in a coordinated series of surprise attacks; they killed 347 people, a quarter of the population of the Virginia colony.

Also from that encyclopedia site:

The Schenectady Massacre was an attack against the village of Schenectady in the colony of New York on 8 February 1690. A party of more than 200 Canadians and allied Mohawk (from Kahnawake (Sault-Saint-Louis) and réserve de la Montagne) and Algonquin warriors attacked the unguarded community, destroying most of the homes, and killing or capturing most of its inhabitants. Sixty residents were killed, including 11 enslaved Africans. About 60 residents were spared, including 20 Mohawk.

Now the object has a new name yet again. The name is now Arrokoth, which means sky in the Powhatan and Algonquian languages.

Blackified.

I'm okay with this. Ultima Thule deserves a larger and more important body. Maybe we'll name that one of our first neptunian colonies or something. Sounds reasonable to me.

ardvarcus ago

I guess it doesn't matter to these virtue-signaling retards that the name "Ultima Thule" was used by the ancient Romans? Of course not. Hey, I hear that Hitler liked to eat Corn Flakes. The libs better hurry up and ban Kellogs.

The Roman Salute was also... Roman. And was used by many other European nations at the time, including America. Did that matter?

Liberal behavior makes perfect sense when you assume their goal is the destruction of European culture, heritage and genetics, and that everything they say is merely a pretense to justify actions towards achieving that end. Many of them don't even deny that anymore. Others still deny it, and may not even realize what they're doing; but even so, their behavior only makes sense when viewed through this lens.

BlowjaySimpson ago

I'm dubious about Rome ever using that salute. It's a modern interpretation/recreation and Hollywood perpetuated it.

Truth is, we were using the Bellamy salute before the Nazis.

superspathi ago

It goes back before modern era. Renaissance era art depicts romans throwing the straight arm salute. See 'The Oath of the Horatii'.

Marxists hate him because of this neat little trick Hitler did, he destroyed their argument politically.
