Seeing part where person pretends to be which to stop children from being bad my first thought was, okay not cool but any jail time is overkill.

Then at the end she back hands them and video cuts out..... Yeah, fuck this bitch. You you got what you deserved. You aren't trying to be creative with discipline, you're trying to make no one believe your kids when they talk about being beaten.

As soon as the kid started screaming she was way over the line. That kid was terrified, and so was the boy on the couch. "Creative discipline" is insane and immature.

Not immature...sadistic!

I agree, but a jail sentence is overkill for just that. By that logic every holloween prank that scares a kid should be worth jail time too... Insane and immature are not jailable offenses.

But she physically abused them. She scared them and slapped them around. That is where it becomes more that being insane and immature.

No. That's not "by that logic". It's not overkill. Halloween pranks are followed by taking off the mask and saying "It's ok, Look, It's just a mask. We're just pretending. Nothing to be scared of." Usually the scared kid will also have a guardian there who will give them a sense of protection. If someone doesn't stop "the prank" after the child is visibly traumatized, that's not "just a prank bro."

I say all of the above assuming we're talking about a competent adult/late teen doing the pranking... Obviously kids are fucking vicious to other kids... If it's a 10 year old traumatizing a 5 year old, That 10 year old is mentally torturing the 5 year old. But you can't hold a 10 year old to the same standards as someone more mature. That being said, That's not an example of Kids being kids. If your 10 year old does that to a 5 year old, you're a shit parent. Actually I shouldn't say that... There are obviously Amazing parents with shit kids... Actually I shouldn't say that either, Maybe those amazing parents aren't actually amazing.

Halloween pranks aren't punishment. They're in the spirit of fun. Kids need to know what to expect when they screw up. That's really important. Surprises in punishment won't create a secure kid. Just as important, parents need to know exactly how they're going to respond the next time the kid screws up. Nothing gets out of hand. Child abuse, aside from sexual abuse is always creative punishment.

Three life terms does sound extreme, but if you click the link i added a minute later, you'll see those two kept getting creative in their punishments.

I just read the additional info about the starving, whipping, burning, etc. This was waaaaaay worse than I thought (A woman dressing as a witch and scaring the kids when they act up).

I agree its bad parenting (scaring kids to teach them a lesson).

However holy shit I had no clue this case was as fucked as it is.
