I loved all of those but ...

Do not forget the horrifying survival movie of a communist tipping southeast asian shithole that demonizes the slants :

No Escape (2015)

No Escape is w white knuckle adventure, the same feel as The Naked Prey because all the asians want to kill Whitey and he needs to find out how to flee the shithole nation collapsing from socialism

see it!

I actually did and it was really good. Very scary. Sand Pebbles was another sort of Asian blackpill movie I watched recently. Beyond Rangoon is not bad although it is sort of a liberal fantasy white savior film.

The Naked Prey is great. Best BBQ scene ever in a movie.

Helena73 ago

Right? Some of those scenes are hilarious. Also great cinematography and really suspensful.

robot7247 ago

I first saw it 20 years ago. Starts out like pretty much any other period Africa film and then hits "WTF WTF WTF!!!!!" right there.

The Naked Prey was excellent. Thanks!

Helena73 ago

Yay, I got at least one person to watch it. I loved the exotic torture scenes in the native village. Looked like parts of nyc of late.

Incidentally, if you're not aware already, we have a channel where we watch movies every Saturday. Head over the v/movieswithgoats if you're interested.

Dark of the Sun - the newer one with Bruce Willis.

Helena73 ago

I never saw “tears of the sun” . Is it related to “dark of the sun”? Never saw that one either.

gimpyoldman ago

Sorry 'bout that. Tears of the Sun is a Bruce Willis movie that seems like an updated Dark of the Sun made in the 60s. Dark of the Sun was based off a Wilbur Smith novel. Wilbur Smith is/was South African that wrote several books of 'historical fiction' based in southern Africa.

robot7247 ago

Dark of the Sun will make you wonder how it got made. It certainly wouldn't be now, some really tough scenes.

Helena73 ago

I watched the trailers and they both look cool.

gimpyoldman ago

Another Wilbur Smith book made into a movie is Shout at the Devil with Lee Marvin. Been a long time since I last watched it, but I remember liking it.

Helena73 ago

Yeah that looks pretty cool too. Good suggestion.

In the movie Zulu, they talk to the riders passing thru about Isandlwana and the Zulus were coming from their victory there. Shortly after they made Zulu, someone made the movie Zulu Dawn with Burt Lancaster about the battle there when the British got wiped out. I don't think it was as good as Zulu.
