Neither. I like the original .45 Colt (not the .45 ACP). I'm a believer in big, relatively slow bullets for stopping power, as opposed to enough power to go through your target and several cars and buildings in back of it. The .357 and .44 magnums are difficult to control. The .45 Colt is easier to control and will most definitely kill anything the other two calibers will. And if your testosterone level still demands magnum power, .45 Colt brass (or at least the Starline stuff) is every bit as stout as the two magnums, and the cases (being originally designed for black powder) are big enough to easily accommodate magnum powder loads.

I've tested a few .45 Colts vs. .45 ACP, thanks to a buddy of mine who came back from Afghanistan. I have to say, I like the .45 ACP more, but mainly because I used and owned a couple of 1911A1s before I tried the .45 Colts. Between the two, if I had the option of not worrying about ammo supply, I would take the .45 Colt, but I have plenty of friends and ammo vendors with better prices on .45 ACP. I was able to find a Sig Sauer Scorpion 1911 on sale, and bought one with my military buddy. You should have seen the smile on his face.

Nothing wrong with the .45 ACP at all, I just like the .45 Colt. Plus I prefer revolvers over automatics. As far as ammo supply is concerned, well, I handload all my cartridges. Sure beats the price of factory ammunition.

I was going to buy a .357 after having fired a 44 magnum and basically decided my once broken wrist didn't like it. I mentioned my idea to my Dad and he decided that I should try his .45 colt. After a trip to the range, I ended up buying my Dad's .45 Colt Anaconda. I enjoy shooing it more than any weapon I own. Though he made me swear if I ever needed to sell it to sell it back to him.

Your dad is a fucking man. He knows his shit.

He sold me a piece of American History (Colt no longer makes revolvers and the Anaconda was the LAST model they came out with.) at the price he paid for it originally too. I could have turned around and doubled my money more than once now. He's a truly remarkable man.

I would love to own one of those guns. One day, maybe, although I want a pair of Colt Pythons to get my akimbo kicks.

Could go Counter Strike style and get yourself a pair of Beretta's for some akimbo kicks for around $500 new a piece for the mid tier model. I don't think of 6 guns when I think akimbo style.
