@Nadeshda. Great article. Great knowledge, and your voice you always carry with you. Petty sang "Buy me a drink, sing me a song... . It's so personal when someone sings to you.
Thank you Sir! Ah yes I just hope I remember and start looking after my voice better. I have to think of resting it more and not forgetting to warm up properly. This series is helping me just as much...
I have tried this and it works as I have stretched my voice when not meaning too... Whoops
I am just wondering if this advice will help that dude/tte at Phuks or not as I haven't actually read the comment... yet... DUN DUN DUUUUUN!
Can you repair vocal cords after they have been stretched?
The answer is yes; you can repair your injured vocal cords after they have been stretched. When you abuse your vocal cords by repetitive and forceful talking or singing, your vocal cords will dry out and eventually becomes stretched or swollen, making your voice hoarse.
Repairing your stretched or strained vocal cords takes time and requires proper throat hygiene (gargling a warm glass of water with 1 teaspoon salt every day), avoiding foods and drinks that may irritate the throat (like spicy foods, dairy products, alcoholic and caffeinated drinks), taking natural throat remedies (like drinking a warm cup of herbal tea like ginger or ginseng tea with a tablespoon of honey) and resting the voice entirely for four to five days. By following the above tips, your stretched vocal cords will recover naturally and brings back your natural singing voice.
Me too I am downloading some stuff because going to a Museums is a must and reading up about the history involved is important too... it's for the kids... ;)
Not sure I bugged you enough today... so I will leave you with a song and say goodnight...
Man I grabbed a fountain soda-Sprite/lemonade mix last summer right before a festival show and paid the fucking price. So much mucus, the first couple songs I probably sounded like Kermit the Frog.
Lol, we have all done it... the worst is the throat tickler and you desperately want to couph but end up squelching it while trying hard not to couph on a mic... that is what cold drinks do to me, it tickles and scratches horribly... lol
I try to make a habit of bringing my own water bottle to shows just to make sure I’ve got room temp water before we play. Doesn’t mean I always remember!
^^^^ This is best indeed, room temperature drinks are KEY but I hate it, I love a hot or refreshing cold drink; especially if running around and setting up stuff...
Side note; They drink a lot of room temperature drinks in, it bugged me I always had to ask for ice when not singing.
ahem... sorry for trolling here but I have some good and some bad news about alcohol and singing if ya are interested...
Wine and beer can affect your singing in different ways. Wine is generally packed with preservatives which dry out your throat. Depending on the brand and quality of the wine, this is not quite as bad as green tea, but you generally don’t want to do anything that will affect the quality of your voice so try a rum or brandy instead. <----- THE GOOD NEWS
Beer (or anything carbonated for that matter) causes bloating and gas and you don’t want either when you’re up on stage singing into a mic. When you sing, you need to keep your stomach muscles relaxed so you can use your diaphragm to breathe.
If you are bloated, you feel tight around this area and your breathing will suffer.
And as for gas? Well it speaks for itself. If you’re singing into a microphone, the audience can hear every little noise you make and it’s really not attractive trying to stifle a belch during a romantic ballad!
Show up whenever is convenient for you, I'll be here all night. I look forward to hearing the mash up. And yes, my latest lyrics are quite forward. But it's the music's fault. The music demands that I write what fits it
Lol, you are starting to sound like @thebuddha... I half wonder if it’s the same song that drove the kids to leave the other day after you steamed yer voice... ?
lol.... AND we know.... Practice makes perfect or so they say.. lol as if perfection is attainable, that cracks me up, but knowing that doesn't mean we stop trying...
I wrote a new song last night, Im going to steam my neck and see if I can sing it! My two sons and one if their friends are sitting directly above the studio. This is going to blow there minds. LoL
The chorus goes, she said faster! harder! deeper! longer!
They are going to freak when I am hollering that into the microphone. Im going to put the guitar on the headphones and have them listen to nothing but my voice

TheBuddha ago
LOL She gave me spare time! Sweet!
I read way too much of that damned manual.
Nadeshda ago
Bleep blop... :)
TheBuddha ago
LOL I'm playing QRV Chess.
It's a brilliant game. I pretty much run Voat now. Piss me off and I unleash my army of crazy people.
I will get a parade, one way or the other.
Nadeshda ago
Lol... you’re a trip... this is true!
TheBuddha ago
They better get started on that parade. My demands will be met.
I have an army of crazy people. I do what I want!
Nadeshda ago
You 5 year-old you :p
Your friends agree with you...

TheBuddha ago
That's a start. They should be sending in fire trucks from all over the globe, really.
I don't think my demands are unreasonable.
Also, the guy on phuks might like an answer. Should I tell them to expect an article as an answer?
Nadeshda ago

That's not an article. I already told them it'd be an article. Sheesh!
Nadeshda ago
Wowzer such a tough crowd in here tonight... FINE, be that way... lol
TheBuddha ago
LOL Hmm... I think I'm crashing soon.
I was up playing QRV Chess pretty late last night.
Nadeshda ago

Sleep well.
Nadeshda ago
Shoot I forgot my log in at phuks... geez look at me 1.2hrs later, yes I will reply with an article indeed. Kinda passed out there for a minute...
TheBuddha ago
No rush. I am mentally exhausted.
Nadeshda ago
Me too and your chess playing is taxing business PLUS reading through a manual the size of a small house would do it...
TheBuddha ago
That's all in addition to my usual shit. I kept EH pretty occupied today, as well.
Nadeshda ago
You are really an AI machine is what you are really telling me here... ;)
TheBuddha ago
Worse. I'm sentient. AI just does what you tell it to do. 'Snot like the movies.
Yet...
Nadeshda ago
Yikes the yet part...
Dun dun duuuuuuun!
TheBuddha ago
I actually kinda keep up with AI developments. It's fascinating math, mostly linear algebra.
Nadeshda ago
So the hive mind is currently being built by data collection is that it?
TheBuddha ago
It is mostly NLP, GAN, and NN stuff that's seeing headway.
Nadeshda ago
I will look into that too, it's rather fascinating in the end...
TheBuddha ago
My parade should probably also have midgets. Valid point. My head might explode in sheer joy and pride, but it'd be worth it.
Would you like me to smite something with my army of crazies?

Yes it definitely takes getting used to. It is so unquenching for taste, but the body seems happier with it so I keep at it
crazy_eyes ago
I notice that she didn't mention anything about abstaining from alcohol!!

crazy_eyes ago

Nadeshda ago
Oh dear, why didn’t you change the lyrics to German?
Schneller, tiefer, härter?
It would be more appropriate for Voat, LOLOL!
crazy_eyes ago
LOL I don't know how to speak German. Those words do look like they would fit right in there
Nadeshda ago

LegalPERSON ago
Yes. We can dress like pirates. I do feel better now lol
Nadeshda ago
And act all silly and have a bottle of rum!
Question: So we know rum is good for the throat but why do pirates always sound so rough and groggy?
Hmmm... I need a pirate singing student to figure this one out I think...
LegalPERSON ago
Because of Arrrrrthritus? Haha
Nadeshda ago

TheBuddha ago
Booze sometimes makes me want to sing. It's practice!
Nadeshda ago

TheBuddha ago

Isn't great when the kids get old enough to give back the crap they gave us growing up. Payback's a bitch (but with love).
crazy_eyes ago
It sure is. I love cranking up the bagpipes on friday nights when my kids have company.
TheBuddha ago
You're a sick man, crazy. That's why I like you!
