10 comments per day are plenty. Especially on a website with a cozy size like voat.
If reddit would replace shadowbans with a 10 comments limit I'd still be active over there simply because I could reach more outsiders.
Instead I recall that one day my comments and submissions all of a sudden no longer received any upvotes. Shadowbans are far more insidious than outright censorship.
yah that guys still not a spam bot nor is he posting CP. I'm not fan of that policy either. When voat was first founded supposedly it was kicked around there would not even BE a down vote feature only upvotes. So you could support ideas but not actively try and silence them.
Then I found out if you get enough downvotes you get throttled to 10 comments a day? That is effectively the hive mind banning someone.
Yeah the 10 comments a day which limits (Not extinguishes) but limits your potential of speech, along with making it so you can't make posts, which also limits speech, means the group can bully you into having little speech until you "wise" up and blindly join their side so you can get a positive karma.
That just rubs me as a form of subtle subconscious censorship as the community is forcing me to change my viewpoint, not by good arguments, but just downvote spam because I dared to think differently.
I mean you could look at my history and see that I asked for proof that the holocaust wasn't real, and instead of providing sources, this one guy just started cussing me out and eventually telling me to leave.
Of course since he came to me all hostile, I responded back hostile, but at the very start I wasn't hostile. But since he was part of the community, I got rekt when he started the hostility.
Besides that, look at 0fsgivin where he said "That is effectively the hive mind banning someone." and now his comment has lots of downvotes. I mean, he isn't spamming, he didn't show much or any hostility I can see, even talked about some of the history of voat, and gave his opinion (Not even calling anyone out it seems). Yet he got downvoted hard, so oof.
People don't like it if you ask them to do something and then tell them you don't give a fuck about what it is you expect them to do. Researching, even if you have knowledge on where to search, takes some time and effort. If you don't value the time and effort of others, of course they won't do it and get hostile at your entitled attitude. Would you really act differently? I would find that hard to believe, given that you described yourself as lazy and not caring.
Found another source](#s "[I agreed with abortion when the subverse was whatever, not anti abortion or something
As of right now it's at -3 downvotes.
If you manage to make just 1-2 halfway decent or funny comments that's easily offset. If you don't want to put in the effort you will still have at least 10 comments were you can be as offensive as you want.
Yes it's restricting you and ideally downvotes would be reserved for spam. But it's hardly censorship.

People here dislike dishonesty. If someone can complain about being banned, at the place where they are supposedly banned from (!), they are not banned.

How many comments per day do you need to make your case known?
If you make original arguments and provide sources, how long would it take you to write 10 Comments? What about 20 or 30 if you make alts?
If you aren't spamming or posting off-topic 20 to 30 comments should take you an evening or more.
Yeah it does slightly limit your speech but spam bots would do worse by drowning your voice in an ocean of spam.
Can you give an example of when you had felt forced to change your viewpoint?

I think you are leaving important bits out here.
When he asked you to fuck off, he quoted you stating that you "don't care too much" and are too lazy to read. He ended his post with stating "Find a way to give a fuck".
