Like it or not we work for fiat currency. What's the best long term investment to protect that energy you've spent to earn that money, so that it is liquid enough to convert back to fiat if necessary, but will also maintain its worth in the event of societal collapse?
Shit load of preserved food?
Land?
Guns and ammo to protect said investments
Renewable energy infrastructure for your home?
Would it literally just be anything that you need to be self sufficient?
I've recently discovered Michael Ruppert....

A good lathe, mill, drill press, and other manufacturing technologies. Those who can create will have an inherent value

I will definitely be getting some of those. I'm pretty decent at machining too. Manufacturing technologies, never considered that. Power to run them is a whole other issue though.

Gotta have a way to run them, so some solar panels or windmill wouldn't be a bad idea. A diesel generator is a must have, and can run off of nearly any oil like substance thin enough to inject into it's combustion chamber.

Military diesel generators. These brushed gensets are built for constant duty, unlike big box units for temp outage. They also underate them by 50%, so don't get one too big or it will suck fuel. These can run on a variety of fuels. MEP 03 is nice sized. Many are reconfiguatble for 3 phase. Iron Planet is where to buy at auction. Our Gov pisses away money, might as well benifit.
