100 CCP is yet again a requirement to downvote and changes I pushed yesterday are now reverted. I spent about 6 hours yesterday reading your comments on my announcement and I think it's pretty clear that majority of you had concerns with removing restrictions. Back to the drawing board I guess. Please accept my apologies for causing the mess.

It encourages participation in discussion. I think that's why most people like it.
It also makes you earn the ability/responsibility of downvoating.

Id be in favor of heavier restrictions. Such as requiring a reply in order to downvoat or maybe a daily ratio of comments to downvoats. But i think im in the minority in that regard.

We both are then.... If you're going to downvoat, you should be required to offer an alternative position/explanation. I'm with you.

The idea of downvoating should be to remove spam though, you probably shouldn't downvoat someone just because you disagree with their opinion...that's the reason the CCP limits are in place, and how downvoating was abused on reddit, as it meant that unpopular viewpoints never got viewed and it led to the establishment of a hivemind mentality which everywhere had to agree with for fear of the dreaded downvoat. Sorry, realise I'm taking this way out of proportion here, apologies. But just trying to raise awareness of why downvoating shouldn't be used just because you disagree with someone, hence why this rule wouldn't really apply here I think.

Yet you NO-Downvoat people are hiveminding right now.
