100 CCP is yet again a requirement to downvote and changes I pushed yesterday are now reverted. I spent about 6 hours yesterday reading your comments on my announcement and I think it's pretty clear that majority of you had concerns with removing restrictions. Back to the drawing board I guess. Please accept my apologies for causing the mess.

Awesome. I think it really helped the majority of people respect downvoating more, as more than a disagree button. I read your post, and you're right that it can be abused, but that doesn't mean we should throw the baby out with the bathwater. Perhaps moderators could just delete posts that beg for contribution points? Make it a site-wide rule?
edit for afterthought: Another similar solution would be to take it a step further, ban accounts that have been caught using the "beg for voats" tactic. That way, moderators shouldn't have to constantly do it, because people will know that it could get them banned, not just deleted, which puts them back to 0. You could also have it so people can report for that, once again, taking some burden off the mods. So I guess you'd just make a sticky post, throw it in the sidebar, however is best to let people know of the new rule. I think that might be the best solution, but I trust your judgement /u/Atko, just figured you'd appreciate suggestions.

That would be the best, deleting posts begging and asking for votes. I used to help run a text based game and votes were required to be able to post in the forum and also showed respect whether positive or negative on their profiles and it worked pretty good.

I like the showing people of your down voats and up voats. That way you can tell if someone just does more harm than good.
