100 CCP is yet again a requirement to downvote and changes I pushed yesterday are now reverted. I spent about 6 hours yesterday reading your comments on my announcement and I think it's pretty clear that majority of you had concerns with removing restrictions. Back to the drawing board I guess. Please accept my apologies for causing the mess.

Yeah i think its a little intimidating for new users. Just yesterday I was enjoying actually being able to upvoat people, and as someone who has always been a lurker its removed what little ability I would've used to contribute.

I think you're right. It can be a little intimidating, absolutly. But it encourages you to get over that and join in in the community discussion.
I was more a lurker too, until i was forced to choose between lurking and participating more. Personally i wouldn't go back. Once you get over the initial uncomfortableness of putting your comments out there, it gets easier (especially the more you do it).

I think you need to look at why this change was made in the first place, spam bots? there are other measure to take such as preventing downvotes after 3 days and having robot verification upon registration.
