100 CCP is yet again a requirement to downvote and changes I pushed yesterday are now reverted. I spent about 6 hours yesterday reading your comments on my announcement and I think it's pretty clear that majority of you had concerns with removing restrictions. Back to the drawing board I guess. Why not take advertisers but don't bow down to them? Sure, it might all be porn like on pirate bay, but it's possible to get advertisers without cow towing to them.

Annoying, badly placed ads drive people away. Especially the type that block content or distort page layout.
Thin, text-only ads (like what Google offers) don't make websites as much money in the short term, but they're typically not intrusive and I usually don't mind them.
Though to be fair, I still personally block them - but only because of how many websites out there use Google Custom Search, and sometimes those text-only ads are placed such that they look like search results. Same goes for Google's own search engine, ironically.
