I still feel like we should have tried it for a bit. You shouldn't always listen to the majority, because sometimes people don't know what they want; like when Youtube made all those changes and people got upset, but eventually everyone realized it was better.

But seriously we should have let this play out. Voat has an unfortunate tendency to be more bias than reddit, and although that's probably partly due in part to the demographic, I think the upvoat/downvoat restrictions play into it. New users can't get enough karma to participate unless they can get other users to agree with them enough to upvoat them, a site characteristic which likely alienates new users and prevents different opinions from emerging.
