Thank you, I really think that is the way to go. 100 CCP doesn't take years to build up but it's enough to show you how much you use the downvote. I truly believe it's better this way too as it prevents people from having accounts used solely for downvoat brigading.

I think it depends on your stance on issues. If you have differing opinions than most of the users on the site, than it can take a long time to build up 100 CCP as people will be downvoting for disagreeing (whether they should, well they shouldn't), but it's easy if you conform the opinion of the group.

Hive mind is definitely a valid argument against the rule, I'll concede that. But even if you only average +1 CCP per comment, that's only 100 comments which is not unreasonable at all. This also the shows people whoso have differing opinions how to civilly discuss the fact that they think someone else is wrong, rather than just blasting them with hate or trolling them.

Furthermore, it's my opinion that limiting the ability to downvoat actually decreases the likelyhood of someone then using it as a disagree button. Obviously that is not universally true and people will always be trolls, but I still feel it's an improvement overall.

Isn't there at least a few communities you could go to where there's like minded people you can connect with? I'm not only suggesting that so you can get 100CCP - it's also a way to meet new interesting people.
