We are aware of the issue and we will re-enable registrations in the next few hours. Sorry about the inconvenience, but we can always blame it on the alpha, right? Right?
Edit: registrations should now be working again.

A subverse is a board, not an account. People will still be able to register and use the site just fine, you just won't be able to make a new board for a little while.
