One of the best "behind the scenes" goats at voat has been @SearchVoat over at v/SearchVoat. He has indexed all of Voat's public data (majority) and you can access it at https://searchvoat.co. I consider him to be trustworthy and honorable.
Don't panic out about saving all your old data before Voat is shutdown, it is Christmas and all.

Bandwidth is practically free. The costs have to do with the other 3rd parties. They still aren't that much. But if he was fair to himself he would need to take in 6 figures to keep this running smoove. The issue isn't money. Its whatever contract and whatever he wants to do with his life.
