Over the years Voat has changed nothing for nobody in any way. Article #11 and Artical #13 of the EU Law doesn’t apply to Voat either. But this month Voat went invite only just to make sure. This morning when I logged on it told me it was checking my browser for the safety of the community. That’s new.

Fingers crossed it all goes well. ImgGoat has been having issues recently aswell.

I personally put the extra security of recent down to the increase in volume of traffic. Voat was never meant to be popular. It was meant to be a place people could still have free speech, and sound off to a group of like minded people in an effort to learn from it. But now we have new members galore, and the site is also covering a much broader spectrum of topics now, the volume in traffic from all over the world has really really increased, and with that comes the trouble makers.

Also, the top contributors have changed and to be honest the new top contributors we have now are off a much higher standard now, than the juveniles we had to begin with. Much more mature in they’re topics discussions and content. You still get your blithering idiots and people coming to just try to start fights, but on average it’s a much better site now.

The site is unique. May it long remain so.
