All I been doing lately is one woman after another after another. So that's probably what's going to happen tomorrow. And the next day, and the one after that. What a crazy situation I live in.
It was awesome. EH sucks, but she will improve by putting her hours in and with continued practice of the skills she's so far learned. She murdered many cones.
It was much more physical activity than I should have done, but it was worth it. She had a wonderful time, as did I. The skills she learns are very, very applicable to vehicle control on a public motorway. That's very much a big reason for choosing rally school. Those skills directly translate to complete vehicle control. This will make her a safer, better driver.
On the other hand, I'm in a significant degree of discomfort and will likely be mostly prone for a few days. I probably should be using my wheelchair and crutches, but I'm retarded and am just hobbling around - which only increases my discomfort.
It's only 18:00 and I'm already in bed, and have been in bed for quite some time, probably about an hour. I expect I'll be prone for a while. Still, it was worth it and we both had a grand time. She's not yet any good at it. She will improve, of this I'm certain.
Yeah the experience and skills she learned there will definitely help her driving ability going forward.
It's awesome that you had a great time. I was wondering about you hurting from that, cause I remember when you told me about the lemon rally, you said the doctor wouldn't clear you for that till next year.
At least you survived. What doesn't kill you makes you stronger
I didn't do much driving, just a bit of showing off. Also, I had an emergency kill switch and a brake pedal of my own - so getting seriously injured was extremely unlikely.
Damned right! They don't really make the pain go away, they just make me not care as much. My tolerance levels have gone up, so they're not as effective as they were. I don't really want them to increase the dosage, however. I kinda save them up and use more on the bad days.
Hell yeah. I've been playing but have been distracted with other things lately so I've not recorded anything. I do plan on rectifying that here in the next week or two though.
They have been pretty awesome. @cynicaloldfart opened the last one, for the first time. I was unable to attend, due to real life adventures. So, he ran it for us and did a fine job. I also haven't listened to all the tracks. I did listen to @crazy_eyes' song about black/darkness. I forgot the title, 'cause I do drugs.
EH and I did Sweet Home Alabama and COF shared that for us, along with a live jam from our last performance. That one was chosen to highlight EH's improved skills behind the board. She's come a long ways and has done so rapidly. Last week, and weekend, I took her to the rally driving school a few mountains over. She killed many innocent cones, but will improve with time and practice.
Anyhow, the guitar threads have taken on a big new group of people. I no longer even recognize all of the names. I no longer am able to track progress for everyone, but I can assert that many have made marked improvements in their playing and recording. To see that, and the increased participation, warms me to my very cockles. Not that I know what cockles are, but I'm quite certain they are warmed.
It is a good thing, that weekly thread. It's great to see that the overwhelming majority are able to appreciate it and it's even greater to see the community participation. As tempting as it is to take credit, it's really y'all who make the thread what it is. Otherwise, the thread would be titled something like Listen To TheBuddha Play Guitar. It's quite distinctly not titled that.
It's really blossomed into something special. Hopefully it will inspire other subverses to do similar things. I suspect that is what Putt is trying to encourage with it being a recurring global sticky. It would really be a good thing for Voat if more people did similar things for whatever hobbies they are into.
Oh shit, EH is behind the wheel now huh? Smashing road cones is much more preferable to deer. Not to mention a whole lot cheaper! Speaking of which, how has the healing process been coming along? Everything getting knitted back together properly?
Yeah, he likes the thread. I asked him to sticky it and he felt that was a good idea. I admit my bias, but I also think it is a good idea.
Yeah, she's learning to drive. We are going to do some amateur rally races this season, specifically rallycross. She's a cone murderer, still. She will improve.
My leg is still pretty fucked, but I'm healing. I'm able to hobble on it, without any aids. I seldom use crutches, cane, or wheelchair. I'll probably use my chair a bit this week, as six days at rally school was a lot more work than I probably should be doing. It is what it is, thanks for asking.
That rally stuff always looked like a blast to me. I don't know that there is anything like that in my area but I should poke around and see. If EH learns how to handle her whiskey, when she gets old enough, on top of her guitar playing and rally driving none of the boys will be able to keep up with her lol.
Oh good, I'm glad you are able to get around mostly unassisted these days. I had been wondering about that. It's crazy how much longer things take to heal the older you get.
Then start something. In rallycross, you don't even need a special vehicle. People often just use their daily driver. The course is marked out with cones, so you're not going to smash into trees and shit.
In our case, we are just going to build a new car for it. The goal being to build it ourselves and on a budget. So, I'm replacing the missus' Impreza and going to use that.
I don't know that my interest level is quite that high, haha. Plus I'd have to buy another car since what I currently drive wouldn't really work and I could spend that money on an amp instead. I'm not ready to do that just yet but I do plan on picking your brain when the time comes!
I'm more than happy to answer questions. It's just a hobby for me, but I enjoy it a great deal. I've taken many, many classes and driven many different vehicles on a variety of surfaces. It isn't even all that expensive to get into motorsports at some level.

Is that why I'm back to 5 points?😕
Mustard_of_puppets ago
No that's because you suck.
Reverse-Flash ago
He just rocketed up to 6.
Mustard_of_puppets ago
Not if I can help it.
Reverse-Flash ago
It may sound cliche but Q predicted this.
Mustard_of_puppets ago
I predicted Q so it shoudl all balances out
SandHog ago
So this is all your fault. I knew it!

The number of guitar goats in this thread is amusing.
I warned voat that the guitar cabal was taking over the site. They didn't believe me.
crazy_eyes ago
I had a conversation with my son about the guitar cabal this morning. I told them the Guitar Cabal was taking over the world next!
TheBuddha ago
And so it shall be!
They didn't believe me when I said the cabal was taking over Voat, but here we are!
We should start with a small country, like Luxembourg.
crazy_eyes ago
Funny thing I was born in Luxembourg
TheBuddha ago
I didn't know that.
crazy_eyes ago
I know, that's why it's funny!
I have had dreams where I was the king LoL
The Guitar Canal is taking over
TheBuddha ago
"What are we going to do tomorrow night, Brain?"

Anyways
How was the rally school trip?

Still isn't a rally car a pretty rough ride
TheBuddha ago
Very much so. All race cars are rough rides, in my experience.
crazy_eyes ago
Well it's time for the next float in my parade!
She does dye her hair! You were right!
Have a great night!
Talk to you later
TheBuddha ago
Drive safe!
crazy_eyes ago
Yeah. That's for sure.
Good thing you got those pills

I hope so. The threads have been magnificent lately. The sticky has given us lots more participation.
SandHog ago
Awesome! I've missed the last couple Friday's threads and need to go back and check them out here at some point.
COF ago
Don't forget it's all in the archives for easy reference, both the tracks and the links to each thread. I'll get to last Fridays tonight or tomorrow.
SandHog ago
I didn't! I appreciate you taking the time to do that COF.

Look up rallycross. There's likely to be events local to you.

Hmm, nothing super close by. I'm guessing it's only a matter of time though. I bet it's pretty popular because it sure does look like a lot of fun.
