@SaneGoatiSwear I understand rule#3 "posts must begin with TIL" is a throwback to reddit arbitrary rules designed to allow mods to freely fuck with users even before you took ownership of this sub. Reminiscent of /v/AskVoat titles once requiring a question mark. What is the purpose of this rule now here on Voat now that you're an owner? The sub name is printed right next to any post in /new so not much point in requiring added "TIL" text.
One thing I would recommend adding to the side-bar rules is that this sub might mainly be for users who have recently discovered some fact or factoid which they want to share with others. The purpose of this sub is missing from the sidebar.

the community's rule. addressing this to me won't do much good. i am but one voice in the field of goats.
that said
meh
it is what it is. there's also v/todayilearned ...
lol
lol no i just mod it because no one else was.
the til rule is. it's purpose? ask people who were on reddit.
i've explained what i think it does so many times
basically in a reader's head it reads "today i learned" blah blah. but without taking up all the title space
in essence the sub is a running log of the things we learn or know and want to share.
there's no rule regarding whether you just learned it or not, and that would be only added if the community wanted it.
frankly i think it should be both
my vote would cancel yours out.
purpose of the sub
hm
post tils.
yeah it's kinda like you know
duh.
but w/e the community wants there. if people really need a "the purpose of v/til is to post things that are facts."
oh that's right it's there. we accept all data, as long as it's factual.
sorry the words aren't in the order you prefer.
if the community wills it i'm sure we couldfind some words for the side bar that fill your need for purposes to be clearly labeled.
