My dear esteemed colleagues:

2019 was a difficult year for some of us. Here’s to a more positive outlook in 2020! I’m taking a well-deserved holiday break, and with some of the odd birds swimming about lately, I think it best to close up shop. All routine maintenance will be handled by bot. Some of us are going to take this time to make progress on something special, so not all is lost!

We apologize for any inconvenience. Normal operations to resume sometime near Plough Monday.

I recently remembered what it was like to be the kind of person that does bad things just to do them. to betray friends. to invert the good. it was kind of jarring. I remembered that not everyone is nice, and kind, and generally amiable. that not everyone tries to be that inside as well as outside. that some people come from low-trust societies. its the basic nature of "the great awakening", I suspect. a persons realization that person has actual, no shit enemies. that your life is in danger. that general idea of "bad".
