That actually makes sense. And how did they bring Rome down? The same way they're trying to bring the nations of Europe down.

Didnt Rome (Roman Empire) fall because of massive inflation?

I'm no history expert, but there seems to be a repeating timeline in this kind of things... Empires rise, and then fall because of money inflation.. The same direction the West is headed now...

Only partly.

One could argue it was ultimately overexepansion of the empire.

To the commenter's point, however, migration from Germanic Tribes and Huns contributed greatly. As well as subversion and corruption from within, an abandonment of traditions (with the adoption of Christianity, over the older faith), and a general licentiousness and decadence in the populace.

The Eastern Roman Empire lasted another 1100 years after adapting Christianity. If anything, the single religion with a strong moral code unified and strengthened the Empire. Surrounding Empires like the Norse/Varangians adapted Christianity in imitation.
