Demonstrably false. NR knows this, and is intentionally misrepresenting.

Point: if consumer access to endpoints is cut (mobile, to-the-curb), say by the large providers, then 8ch would also become unavailable to virtually everyone. This is the primary way one would imagine any practical form of "shutting off the internet".

Point: if 8ch is still accessible, implying consumer access is still available, then I absolutely guarantee that many other sources will also be available. In fact, I'll eat a hat of whatever color and design NR chooses if my own servers are unavailable while 8ch is still available. And I am not special. Many, many people/operations have exceptionally resilient infrastructures. Far more resilient than what 8ch has deployed.

Point: spare me the "routers routers routers" arguments. No one is going to go program all the core routers to only allow 8ch traffic. And even if they did, the basic design of the protocols that power the internet would interpret that as damage to the system and seek alternative routes. Such routes are available, and have been for decades now, in the form of over-the-air mutlimodal communications. For example, email traffic can be routed point-to-point between relays by amateur radio stations during natural disasters. That kicks in automatically, has been used many times during hurricanes and earthquakes, and would work just fine to keep things like email distribution lists humming along -- albeit slowly and perhaps without all the cute pictures or video links -- during NR's imagined great only 8ch will be left standing tribulation.

Point: be careful who you follow. Some people will endeavor to use technical complexity as a mechanism of exploitation. Don't believe me at my words alone. Go investigate for yourself. Read the RFCs, read about winlink, about how internet traffic responded to disasters or mass censorship operations in other countries.
