I am not sure if this is helpful, I appreciate that theres been lots of offers for support and I am not sure if/how I can contribute. I have very limited experience on larger projects. But as a thought why not just abandon the existing DB and start fresh? The people make voat and people can make new posts leaving dev time on the platform only. Why not offer putt a plan C, a viable platform for a new voat.
I costed this up in another thread at circa 80-100k needed to get this over and keep it alive in the mean time, leaving an investor as the only credible option. 75% of the cost was dev time porting the code.
I think the majority of the community would be happy with voat alive and would get over lost posts, we can backup the data and repost if needed. This might just be a case of not throwing the baby out with the bathwater. We would all be willing to sacrifice a lot just to keep this bastion of free speech going.
Perhaps this is a more practical approach when looking at offering a solution externally and not just landing putt with more work.

You're best off copy/pasting this reply in the thread I linked. I'm just helping them out by linking to it and they might not see this here.
