Bill Gates was promoting machines that filter and clean sewage water into safe, drinkable water. He didn't encourage people to eat their own feces. It's not eating their own feces if there are no fecal particles left in the water.

Eating insects would be a good way to produce animal protein. It would use less feed and water and can use insect species that are well suited to incredibly crowded conditions, unlike cattle, pigs and chickens. I think it would produce a higher quality product than today's factory farming of animals unsuited for such conditions.

I'm not defending the other two.
