I don't think I've seen this around yet.
"OOIL was required to sell the terminal, one of the largest and most automated in the country, pursuant to the National Security Agreement with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and U.S. Department of Justice.
The federal government demanded the sale of the terminal after a review last year of the purchase of OOIL by COSCO Shipping Holdings by the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS)."

A start but not enough. They still have control for the next 20 years. We should have confiscated the damn thing.

Remember when Obama was President in Sept, 2009 a Chinese flag was supposedly raised on the WH lawn at equal distance with the US Flag? FOX News tried to debunk it using a Chinese news source but RED State had a video of the flag being flown which is no longer in this post. Most likely it was scrubbed from the internet. https://www.redstate.com/diary/toni100/2009/09/24/heres-the-video-of-chinese-flag-flown-on-white-house-lawn-at-the-same-level-as-us-flag/

Thank you for posting this very important information.
Q told us to watch the water & gave us direction to the Long Beach port.
I went to the link on your post and was sent over to the post below.
Again, thank you!

That’s an Australian investment bank. Know it well.
USAMatters ago
Thanks for getting back with me.
What are your feelings about the bank? Will they continue with trafficking humans and bringing in drugs or will they run a legitimate business?
isalod_2298 ago
Honestly, it’s hard to say. The way financial services (particularly investment banking) is set up, they compartmentalize everything really well so one sector of the bank doesn’t know what the other is doing. For the group I’ve dealt with, all good hardworking people. But I suspect that is the case with most major corporations, the lower level workers know next to nothing, while the higher ups are the ones planning/plotting/scheming. What I do know of the company is that they have a reputation for actually treating their employees like humans and not cattle, so that’s somewhat refreshing/worth noting.
USAMatters ago
Yes, it is refreshing. Thanks for the insight.

I see this as a Q confirmation too, & correct me if I'm wrong but I seem to remember FBIAnon also hinting what comes into our country through the Port of Long Beach.

"You think you're hot shit, doncha?" lol
just kidding
An interesting note while reading the article: The mention of the word EVERGREEN, Hillary's codename. Maybe a coincidence but a 'funny' one.
He added that “a key factor in the deal (and the price) is the 20-year continued usage agreement with OOCL (and in effect the Ocean Alliance) which underpins base volumes.” In addition to COSCO and OOCL, the Ocean Alliance vessel-sharing agreement includes CMA CGM and Evergreen.
I'm guessing we'll find that lots of contraband was found moving through Long Beach Port.
TSE ago
This is a good thing. Trump forced the sale and Macquarie Group Limited is the buyer. No more Chinese!!!!! It was super stupid when the port was sold to COSCO. I wonder how much money Fienstein made on the sale.
isalod_2298 ago
Macquarie is an Australian investment bank, still foreign owned.
TSE ago
Macquarie partnerships are major investors in port assets and stevedoring. In North America, they own 90 percent of the largest container terminal in the Port of New York and New Jersey, Maher Terminal in Elizabeth, N.J., and 49 percent interest in Yusen Terminals Ltd. (YTI) in the Port of Los Angeles.
Q20191776 ago
I think I'm going to send this article to my Congressmen with the question, "Why are our ports being sold to Chinese companies?"
DawnPendraig ago
And UAE also. First Bush (thwarted by Chuck Schumer interestingly enough) then Obama tried to force the "35 year lease" of major shipping ports on the East Coast including the one near a military base in Florida.
It was easily put through by Obama because no one would oppose him. "Leased" to UAE based company Gulftainer who is owned by a company called Crescent Group - the owners include the nephew and brother of Saddam Hussein's nuke scientist.
Q20191776 ago
I sent both the article about Long Beach port sale and the article about foreign efforts to nuclearize shipping containers to my Congressmen.
The_Real_Wahrheit ago
Wow that's a hardcore report of a rabbit hole network analysis. Thanks Pendraig!

Slick Willy allowed the Chinese to purchase it back in the 1990's
NelleBeane ago
I'm not a master of recognizing the nose or names, but judging by the leadership of the company it this seems much better than China controlling our deep water port on the West Coast.

We need to put a ban on any and all ownership of American infrastructure by foreigners. Whatever they own, seize it and sell it at auction for cheap to real Americans.
MinorLeakage ago
While I do agree with this idea, remember that the US does not allow other countries to do this with American-owned assets in other countries. Would you be okay with all countries doing this, including American capital?
amarQ144 ago
Yes. It would be the death blow to multinationals.
MinorLeakage ago
Well I'm happy someone answered! This is also my opinion.
FTSIO ago
Infrastructure is key. Foreign nationals who are want to own homes and things I guess would be alright with me but anything to do with infrastructure is tied to national security.
Ports of entry, energy, roads. Those things should be owned by Americans imo.
MinorLeakage ago
I understand your point and I agree.
What I was asking was if you would support say, Canada, doing the same thing. And what if the assets seized by Canada were largely American owned? For instance, what if your employer invested your pension in a Canadian company, that Canada decided was of National interest?
Just curious, because right now America is the #1 enforcer or property rights worldwide.
swimkin ago
Does that include all the homes the Chinese are buying in CA?
DawnPendraig ago
The Chinese bought the "Freedom Tower" we erected to remember 9/11 etc. How sick is that?
They also were selling federal land to China. This is the real reason they tried to destroy the Bundy Ranch and family.
Don't get me started on Texas tax payers funding these stupid toll roads here that were owned by foreigners also and tolls not used to pay us back.
isalod_2298 ago
I would say so. Getting rid of foreign buyers and real estate investors will help to keep prices where they should be. All the foreign money is pushing real estate prices higher and higher, unaffordable to the average middle class American. Less buyers means prices will have to adjust to what people can actually afford.
FirstDamsel ago
Well said. Your point is proven by what swimkin just asked above. You can't touch real estate in Ca and it isn't coincidence that residential real estate is being sucked up by the Chinese in most areas of Ca.
amarQ144 ago
Seattle too
