The warrant, signed on Sept. 26, 2016, ordered FBI agents to search three of Weiner’s devices, an iPhone, an iPad and a laptop computer — all of which had been “transferred” by Weiner to Granite Intelligence, based in midtown Manhattan, three days earlier, according to the papers.

The NYPD did not have the laptop before the FBI seized it under Federal Warrant. Here's who had the laptop 1. Athony Weiner 1. Granite Intelligence.

My guess is that Weiner or his lawyer knew this was coming. Is Weiner a lawyer? He probably is.

And since they knew it was coming, they either negotiated prior to the warrant or they gave the devices to Granite Intelligence to insure they wouldn't be accussed of evidence tampering.

The warrant tells the FBI to get the devices directly from Granite.

As much as I hope this is true, that story came from an unconfirmed source in a publication with questionable credibility. It was latched onto and spread far and wide.

This fake story was pushed to a lot of outlets. YourNewsWire had it first. When Rolling Stone looked into the origins of this they found this fake story was being pushed on twitter and Facebook. The first mention on Facebook was an account with a fake name, but they found the woman behind the account. A 60 year old cat lady in Joplin, MO. Exactly who NYPD chiefs discuss sensitive cases with. Twitter bots were already pushing this fake story a week before the Erik Prince article.

There were other version of this fake story. Including that the laptop showed the election would cancelled and John McCain created ISIS.
