Where is the racism at? I don't see it in the subs I subscribe to. Do people not know how to subscribe to subs? I see no fat people hate or racism. I wouldn't be here if that was in my face every moment.
There's these arrows in the top left corner of the posts. If enough people downvoat that shit, it magically disappears. And the reddit sock puppets have to create another account to continue.
If all you are adding to a discussion on a news article is along the lines of "niggers gonna nig", that's not expressing an opinion or adding anything to the conversation. The users have the opportunity and the responsibility to clean up the site.
thats my feelings too... i remember one top comment had the new to me word "sheboon" in it , followed by a comment along the lines of " wow, voat is teaching me all new racist terms i didn't knew existed." And that was the top post... a racist rant, and someone pointing out a racist rant... and jack and shit about the damn article.
I've notice it a LOT. Many of these comments are not downvoated, so you see them. I want to keep Voat's free speech thing going, but a "block user" option would be great. I want to read comments that are thoughtful, even provocative. This racist nonsense is just ignorance.
I think a "block user" option is in the works. I like reading comment sections, and people have right to voice their opinions (even shitty racist ones), but I don't want to see it if I can help it. These comments don't move the conversation forward.
True they don't move the convoy forward, but there will always be a dickhead somewhere.I would like to see the block user and flag user options though... I would be interested to see how that goes
Then you are reading the comments on the news, not the news. If you can't handle varied opinions you have the option of reading censored comments elsewhere.

This is where I am seeing it. I want to read the news, but the comment section on some posts is awful.

And the comment section is preventing you from reading the news?

Some people want their opinion on the news spoonfed to them, and if it isn't done in a hugbox, they get upset.
