I've thought this before, but I doubt it. Bitcoin solved a real problem: it makes digital money actually possible. It's not anonymous, but Monero is. Truly anonymous crypto is possible, and in use today.

I can't know how knowledgable you are of cryptography. I will say that you're right to question everything, including security. However, cryptography is not a secret magic that you can't understand. Regardless, it's not the cryptography behind Bitcoin that anonymises users. It's the names, addresses, IP addresses, etc. like you point out. These are criticisms of the global internet backbone systen, and the encryption used to secure that data...Not cryptocurrency.
