It is not freedom or anonymity. It's barely pseudonymity to strangers. "They" have everything.
It was created and released quite suddenly, got so much hype that it didn't deserve, and not only survived but is thriving like never before. All coded by a pseudonymous "Satoshi".
Double Hegelian Dialectic. 1 Problem, 2 Problem-solution, 3 final solution. 1 Fiat, 2 global cashless society so many hate, 3 "Secure" and "anonymous"-sounding crypto. Funneled right into their plan.
The blockchain is a PUBLIC ledger stored in millions of copies across a decentralized network, consisting of ALL transactions. Ever. And "They" have the computing power and AI software to unravel it -- you don't. You think your real IP, MAC, or other address isn't siphoned out and tied to every BTC wallet that they can later reference? They own the infrastructure all data is built upon. You cannot use it without their consent, control, and surveillance.
They can manipulate its value more easily even than the stock market, which they already fiddle with. Not so much as you think -- that isn't necessary. Think "Office Space". They own the computers the sales run on, and a fraction of a millisecond now can shave every coin that passes through -- on both ends. Multiple times. Only a gentle ripple need be present if you can collect energy from the whole pond.
It isn't even pseudonymous. Every transaction, every text message, every BB post, every voice call, every email - it all runs over their computer backbones.. and you think they can't control network consensus? That they can't simply inject MITM attack anywhere they please?
And BTW, you think the "dark web" isn't simply running on top of their same backbone? That they don't have the ability to decrypt in realtime what THEY wrote the encryption algorithms for? You think encryption really matters if they're the ones you're trying to hide from?

There is ZCASH and Monero for anonymity. People should use them more. Especially ZCASH. It's more advanced than Monero.

Zcash is a joke compared to monero and I've been invested in both. There's a reason why the dark net prefers monero over any other coin.
dayofthehope ago
Would you care to share what that reason is? Could it be that it's simply because they have more money invested in Monero?
Monero seems like a bunch of different stuff hooked up together using scripts. Zcash, on the other hand, is well thought out and can be more anonymous.

Monero is designed to be a privacy coin by default and uses its own protocol separate from Bitcoin to achieve this. It's more complicated and expensive to use but provides the best anonymity. Hardware wallets like ledger can't figure out how to fully integrate because of the different protocol. Anonymity in Zcash is optional and only a small percentage actually uses the privacy features, which would draw extra attention if you did use it. Zcash is more user friendly and can be fully integrated into hardware wallets because it uses a Bitcoin protocol.

To have full access to all the anonymity and security features you need to run a full node of either Monero or Zcash. Zcash encourages people to use the anonymous z-addresses. They have had zcash give aways on twitter for people using zaddreses, just to encourage people to use them.
My research on this topic has led me to think that Zcash is well-thought out, whereas Monero is a bunch of different technologies hooked up together with a bunch of scripts. The people who have money invested in Monero and who control the Monero mining have been much more aggressive in getting their message out in the chans and social media. I have found that they are not fully honest, which has confirmed my point of view that Zcash is, in fact, the better technology.
It'd be in everyone's interest for Zcash to succeed.
