I was in my hospital earlier this week, and it was great. Very few people, as they prohibited guests, and only allowed 'critical care' patients.

We're still in the ramp-up phase with the virus. Yesterday, my county had 39 and zero deaths, today it's 44 / 1. Even with almost everything closed, and dead streets (not dead IN streets), a nearby county is still increasing, although to be fair, they have over a million people.

LATEST, March 29, 4:30 p.m.: Santa Clara County on Sunday reported 55 new cases of COVID-19, bringing its total cases to 646. Its death toll remained at 25.

Having few people physically interacting in public seems to be helping. Way better than everyone getting it at the same time.

What HAZMAT? All I see is PPE (personal protection equipment). Used for any contagious condition. PIA to take on and off every time you enter a patients room, especially when you have several people in several different rooms.

I don’t know about in hospitals, but the SOP for my fire department is this:

Gloves and eye protection all calls

N95 or surgical mask for all medical (non-trauma) calls

Assess patient from 6 feet, if they have symptoms they wear surgical mask

Any aerosolizing procedures like intubation, crew wears gowns and N95

btw hazmat suits are still PPE

I found the original Sky news video from Italy at timestamp 2:24.

It IS a sky news video from Italy on March 22nd, and it was used by CBS in the New York story on the 25th, that is confirmed now..
