Pumpkin is a type of squash, so meh. Not that big a deal. But I recently learned that Lays sued a bunch of farmers in India because they were growing a variety of potato that Lays apparently owns without their permission. I wonder if Libby's owns the breed of squash they developed, and how they developed it.
This is well known. Where have you been living? Under a rock? Orange squash bad, lol. The squash used by the largest “pumpkin” canner is the best for pie. They grow tons of it for their cannery. French pumpkins are great for soup, if you make your own. Sugar pie pumpkins are available at grocery stores for home cooks. I’ve put butternut squash and orange sweet potatoes in pies and baked goods. It’s all good for you and tastes good too!
This reminds me of vanilla extract. It has alcohol in it, but because the manufacturers lobbied the FDA they were able to get it categorized outside of a liquor category. It has as much alcohol as rum.

A pumpkin is a squash. Everything is fine.

Pumpkin pie is for commies who hate America and the apple pie we stand for.

What people think of as "pumpkin" flavor is a blend of cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and allspice.

That's pumpkin spice. It's made of spices. Spice is made from spice.

Interesting. French pumpkins? Never heard of that.

Basically just heirloom pumpkins. Thick orange flesh. Great for cooking.

Here's another one for you: buttery tasting doesn't mean butter.

I wonder how many people have never eaten a pumpkin pie made from an actual pie pumpkin. Bonus points if you make the whipped cream too.
