While I am inclined to agree with your perspective, the article does state that they must meet all the normal requirements, the only real difference is you dont work for them and are strictly a passenger and guest, again... according to the article.
I dont know fuck all about it but I thought it was interesting that they were so broke they had to sell tickets.
