I think I'm living in a conspiracy theory. My Father is Ret. Military - many years. In the 70's I almost died of meningitis, which my parents hid, and the same year my brother contracted aplastic anemia which he died from 4 years later. My Mom said they were at the National Institute of Health for my brother with other sick kids (and Jewish doctors) Like a research group. This disease is very rare. Only 2 pockets in California and Hawaii in the seventies. As for me, who the hell knows. I have memory loss. We all had spinal taps at NIH
I know troops are exposed to crap. Well, I think military brats are too.

Thank you. I'm sick of neurosurgeons' opinions

Could be environmental, military bases tend to leave a toxic footprint.

I’m not sure about in the 70’s but I’m an Air Force brat and after 9/11 we were given 6 rounds of anthrax vaccines! I was no more than 10 at the time. Not to mention all of the other crap they probably injected in me so I could move overseas. Mad cow & all these other weird European diseases... My dad developed colon cancer about 5 years ago and he is convinced it was from the burning pits in Afghanistan. (He’s recovered now and retired from military but back at civilian work Thank god!) but I absolutely believe they use us as guinea pigs whenever they feel like it.

Mad Cow and all those other weird European diseases..lol. Anyone going any where within a sniff of the ME was given a cocktail of injections in one day, far too much for most immune systems to cope with, especially if you had anything else in your health background. Am sure you know about gulf war syndrome, then to be exposed to anything in the air ( burning pits ) will compound any problems.

Yeah it was a weird cocktail to be allowed back into the states too! I was 9-13 when my family was stationed in Ramstein AB Germany and then sent back to the states around 2004-5. I was in middle school there during 9/11 and the mad cow outbreak, hence, the weird cocktail and anthrax vaccines. I’m not even sure if I’m allowed to donate blood or plasma still? Which is a shame because I am AB+ and they allegedly really need my plasma so much they are willing to pay for it.

Thanks for caring about blood donations!!! I'm o+

I was in Europe 5 years during mad cow. Now I can't donate blood.

Are you ok from the anthrax???
Magonia ago
Yeah I’m fine as far as I can tell? Lol I do have some thyroid issues but nothing too serious. I had actually forgotten all about them until I applied to college and they told me I had missed my 2nd chicken pox/rubella shot or whatever and wouldn’t let me in to the school until I got it. So I pulled my shot records and saw SIX shots for anthrax... it blew my mind!

I still have my overseas shot record - so I know what you're saying. I have weird medical problems, stuff that 98% of the population doesn't. One Dr swore I had Tuberculosis on a chest X-ray. If I ask my Dad about stuff like that he will laugh say where are you getting all the crazy ideas? So, all I know is their version. If that makes sense.
Magonia ago
Totally makes sense. And my dad is the same way! Lol he’s always like “trust me, the government isn’t organized and competent enough to pull that off”! - on the plus side, does this mean we’re immune to crazy stuff too!? Like I’m immune to anthrax now and you can shoot laser beams out of your eyes and stuff? Lol
Veghead ago
Right! I also think some doctors know but won't say in case there is a connection.

Yeah, I'm old. lol My Dad is very thin, always has been. It's weird that my folks denied meningitis until a Neurosurgeon called it on my MRI. Whatever it was, it made me crazy.
Magonia ago
I can only imagine it made you crazy! Knowing something is wrong with you but everyone denying it!
