The natural world doesn't have any concept of gender. Loads of animals have the ability to change sex if it is convenient for the survival of the species. All that's happening here is that this chemical apparently triggers this but the thing is this was already something that the frogs had the ability to do anyway. It doesn't make frogs gay any more than teaching a parrot to say "Fuck" teaches it English. Or any other analogy you could care to use.
