What likely happened is that the Alexa legitimately malfunctioned and sent the message to a contact in the owner’s phone by mistake. Don’t get me wrong, these things are obviously spying on people. But the smartphone in your pocket has already been doing that for years.
Right, so we should just add to the bs and get as many spying devices as we can. I'm planning on ditching my smartphone, and I know many others are planning that as well and some already have. I'm tired of talking about something to someone and then seeing ads for it later. This is Google doing this, not Facebook since I don't have Facebook.

No I’m not saying disregard the Alexa. Obviously we shouldn’t be buying these things. I’m just saying this is nothing new.
