Yea they are there set in the firmament. Little lights. Sun and Moon race overhead in a perpetual course over the face of the earth. I can point the telescope down a long straight flat road and see for miles and miles and miles... I can see for miles and miles and miles and miles.... No curvature.. Please explain how you think a telescope tells us that the earth is a ball.

Eratosthenes knew that on the summer solstice at local noon on the Tropic of Cancer, the Sun would appear at the zenith, directly overhead (sun elavation of 90°)
so this is why your link thinks the experiment shows the world to be flat, but by measuring the length and the angle or the shadows to a more exact degree you can see it's wrong.
