Of course the (((media))) gives this guy attention. The media is taking advantage of his attention whore tendencies to make conspiracy people look nuts.
The Earth should be 100% researched outside of establishment space agencies, but his experiment is dumb. His rocket is going up around 2000 feet or so: not too much higher than the Empire state building and not even as high as the Burj Khalifa.
You can go way higher than he'll be going in a hot air balloon if you really wanted a stable, bird's eye view of the landscape.
And the experiment is worse than useless as light bends anyway (on top of normal refraction) so simply seeing the view from that height can't really prove anything one way or the other.
What I do find interesting about his experiment is that his rocket is labelled as steam-powered. I'm not sure exactly how that would work, but it sounds pretty fascinating.
I'm happy that there is light being brought on the topic of Flat Earth, but the problem with deceptions is that they will or have used this truth to distracted away from other truths and try to divide us even further. I tend not to pay much mind to media outbursts on any topic.
Anyone have any thoughts why this is adopted by sane intelligent people. I have a flat earther in my life. I was sure he was pulling my leg, but he seems to take it seriously. Is it that once you get into the true conspiracies you don't know when to stop? Is it a sort of one upmanship, "my conspiracy theory goes farther than yours". Told me the globe earth theory was designed to discredit god. Hmmm the US is largely Christian, even more largely religious. The globe earth theory has been accepted by people of faith for a long time. So much for that rationale. I want to understand why this person has gone nutz on this. Help
It's a mark of an intelligent person to question everything including the (((narratives))) that are fed us.
As for how one becomes a Flat Earther usually stems from the Moon Hoax. If you don't believe we landed on the moon, it's only a few steps to believing the earth is flat. If you believe that we landed on the Moon than there is no point in debating this because you'll believe anything the government tells you.
The globe earth theory has been accepted by people of faith for a long time.
We were all taught the globe since birth and have never questioned it (the definition of 'faith'). You begin to ask questions like, "Show me a picture of a globe earth that isn't photoshopped" and you begin to find shitty explanations for why no proof exists of a globe earth.
I understand that once you start questioning you keep finding deeper layers of deceit. Happened to me. I accept that the first Moon landing was probably a hoax. But the flat earth conspiracy would require complicity around the world with people from many walks of life and over centuries. Every pilot who flew south of the equator, every sailor who sailed south of the equator would have to be in on it and the list of conspirtors needed goes on and on. It is vastly different from a Moon Landing hoax or 911 in scale. And while the moon landing could have a clear benefit to TPTB as well 911, MH17, Oaklahoma bombing etc, what benefit could hiding a flat earth have and have had over centuries?

Only 3 Centuries...when you consider men smarter than us believed the world was flat for 3 thousand years using science and evidence and We finally have the technology to prove where we live and our government discovered it was built by God (ie flat earth) of course they would want to keep it hidden.
Again, all it would take to disprove the flat earth are photos of a non-photoshoped earth (which doesn't exist in any credibility).

I'm not being rude, you are just a classic case of not understanding what the flat earth people believe. Here is what the Flat Earth looks like. As for conspiracy of the South Pole...What is more conspiratorial than making sure that Crossing Antarctica is illegal (ie the Ice Wall)
What benefit could hiding a flat earth have and have had over centuries?
1980 feet in a mile
WTC one was 1776 feet

Presumably one could charter a helicopter to take you that high with less danger :)
My father flew to Brazil in a small plane numerous times. I don't recall him ever saying Oh my dog the earth is flat. Maybe he was part of the conspiracy too. :) Took the secret to his grave?

I hope he doesn't get killed or damaged in his ridiculous quest.
