Perhaps the Challenger was never intended to explode, yet they missions it was sent on never actually carried human crew. So when it failed catastrophically, they had to avoid explaining why there was no crew aboard.
There is another theory (with evidance) that it was shot down by a Russian sphere ship ( like German bell craft and us tr3b) we may never know what the secret space programs where really up to, but it seems like more and more of "accepted history" is just a big show to distract us.
