For clarification, they are:
Rule 1: No Spam or Memes
Rule 2: No overt attacks on people's race, religion, ethnicity, nationality, or creed
/v/conspiracy moderators have an extremely hands off approach to moderation here. Occasionally, some comments get lots of reports, but we almost always ignore them.
About a month ago, I deleted a comment that had been reported multiple times that was in violation of rule 2.
Granted, I recognize that Voat's entire raison d'etre is for free speech, but it's becoming increasingly clear that TPTB are trying to equate conspiracy theorists with unapologetic racism, and that's completely unacceptable.
However, this brings us into the dangerous realm of subjectivity, and could potentially conflict with Voat's commitment to freedom of expression.
What do the actual users of /v/conspiracy think? The Voat concern trolls have made their position abundantly clear, but ultimately this decision should be made by the legitimate users here.
If the community wants to remove (or keep) either (or both) rules, please make your voice heard now.
Much love.

get rid of rule 2 i get why you have it and have the same fears you do about the unapologetic racism in all of voat but if speech becomes censored here what reason do we have not to just go to reddit

Because on Voat you can create your own sub with your own rules and say whatever you want without fear of being banned. And the owner of this site won't ban you for saying those things. But why do think you can just post anything in any sub. Where's the line drawn. If that's the case then how do you stop a group of people from coming into your sub and taking it over posting things NOT related to your sub and the sub's mission (or whatever you want to call it...). Like if I own the sub "pantsuits" and you came in spamming pics of "jumpsuits" it would ruin my pantsuit sub. Why do you want to ruin my pantsuit sub brah?
It's not freedom of speech to go into a sub and try to change it into something it's not. If I create the sub "pantsuits" the users expect it to be about pantsuits. If you come in and spam "jumpsuits" then you are taking away my freedom to post "pantsuits".
You likewise have the freedom to create a "jumpsuit" sub. And make any rules you want or ever do like /v/whatever and let it be a free for all. But you shouldn't dictate what content a sub wants to be about. That's not much freedom. And you'll end up with NO subs at all. Which I suspect is what these spammers intentions are anyways.
They just want to scream loudly like Antifa and shut down other people's freedom of speech by spamming nonsense in this sub so nobody else can post things that the sub is actually about. And then eventually people will stop coming here.
What if a group of people went into /v/niggers and spammed interracial porn all day long. Are you telling me that they believe in freedom of speech so much they wouldn't ban those people in a heartbeat or delete those posts. Fat People Hate bans people ALL the time and doesn't allow people to talk positive about fat people. Imagine if people starting posting fat memes that were positive (not sure how to do that.. but anyways..) they would delete those posts and the ban the users. I'm not sure but I think I'm banned from there and never even posted in the sub.
You have to have rules, unless you want to have /v/whatever. And your welcome to create your own subs.

i agree with what you are saying but i would say that all falls in rule 1 for spam
